With the new digital video equipment and cameras in hand the GSMP regional team set out to travel overland from Georgetown to the Rupununi Savannahs. The objective was to produce a series of up dates about life and progress in the territory as a follow up to the media production done in 1999.

  • Camera and Sound Equipment for GSMP Regional Team in Place

    The Guiana Shield Media Project’s Regional team in Georgetown, Guyana has received and begun working with their new digital camera and sound equipment. Ray Kril, International Coordinator, delivered the gear and carried out training with Assistant Regional Coordinators Sherwin Blyden and Sharla Hernandez during the first week of March.

  • MARINE TURTLES IN GUIANA SHIELD
    Presently several species of marine sea turtles are active with nesting in the Guiana Shield region. The beachs along the coasts of Suriname, French Guiana and Guyana are important locations for the laying of eggs. The GSMP is planning to produce media material about these ancient and endangered creatures and the conservation efforts for their protection...
